Took a break from the normal grind and checked out "A Simply Sinatra Christmas" with Steve Lippia at the Eisemann Center last night in Richardson. Great show! Was glad to listen to some classic Sinatra songs. Even had a joke thrown in that had me chuckling (see below paraphrased)!
Three men die on Christmas Eve. They go to the Pearly Gates and meet Saint Peter. Given it's Christmas Eve, Saint Peter decides to offer them a break. If they can show him that they had the Christmas Spirit when they met their end, they get a free pass to Heaven.
Man #1: Digging in his pockets and jacket, he searches for something to show Saint Peter. Finding a lighter in his pocket, he shows it to Saint Peter.
Saint Peter: What does a lighter represent?
Man #1: A christmas candle!
Saint Peter: Welcome to Heaven.
Man #2: Searches as the first Man, finds his car keys, and announces, "Jingle Bells!"
Saint Peter: Welcome to Heaven.
Man #3 (who is drunk): Searches and searches but cannot find anything. At the last moment, he recalls something in his backpocket and produces a pair of women's underwear to Saint Peter!
Saint Peter: How does that represent the Christmas Spirit?
Man #3: It's Carol's
Saint Peter: Welcome to Heaven!
